The Dallas Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals selected Capital One^® as its 2004 Outstanding Corporation. We were nominated by the North Texas Food Bank. Capital One Auto Finance^SM  was recognized by the Richardson School District in Dallas, Texas for our partnership with Mark Twain Elementary School and Communities in Schools. Capital One works with both organizations to support academic achievement and after-school programs for at-risk students.

The Shakespeare Theatre in Northern Virginia honored Capital One for leadership support of their TEXT ALIVE education program that impacts thousands of students, as shown through increased attendance, excitement to learn, and improved grades.

Capital One was awarded the District Commissioner’s Business Recognition Award by the Florida Education Foundation for continued support of its Hillsborough Reads program and through associate volunteerism where associates tutor students, assist teachers in the classroom, and help with school-wide events.

Capital One’s school partnership with Pine Spring Elementary in Northern Virginia was recognized as the Partner of the Year by Fairfax County Public Schools. This annual award is given to the business partner that best impacts their partner school and the students. Capital One’s partnership with Pine Spring began in September 2000, and has focused on one-to-one mentoring between our volunteers and students-averaging 30-40 associate volunteers each week at the school. Each year, Capital One donates hundreds of school supplies and thousands of books to the students.
