Account Users, including Authorized Users and Account Managers, are able to make transactions on the account, but the primary cardholder is financially responsible for the account. The primary cardholder is responsible for all charges made by their respective Account User(s), including any transactions in excess of your credit limit(s) that we may authorize for Account Users. Account Users have access to certain account information. We will also report their information to the credit bureaus.

Authorized Users must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for online access. Setting up an online account requires verification of the Authorized User's Social Security Number (SSN). If SSN cannot be verified, online access cannot be granted to the Authorized User. Online Access cannot be revoked once an Authorized User has enrolled.

Authorized Users can:

Make purchases
Make payments
Report fraud and file disputes on their card
Review their own transactions
Request a replacement card for themselves
Set up their own online profile to change certain aspects of their own card, but not other cardholders on the account
Make cash withdrawals

Authorized Users cannot:

Add or manage Account Users
Redeem rewards
Request balance transfers or access checks
Change the credit line or product, or close the account

Depending on the channel, Authorized Users could review certain account information, but cannot make changes to the account.

Account Managers must be at least 18 years old and have a verified Social Security Number.

Account Managers can:

Make purchases
Make payments
Redeem rewards
Set up their own online profile to manage the account
Report fraud and file disputes on all cards
Review all transactions
Add and manage Authorized Users
Request replacement cards for all cards on the account
Make cash withdrawals
Share account information with third parties

Account Managers cannot:

Request balance transfers or access checks
Change the credit line or product, or close the account

By requesting to add an Account User, you confirm that:

You have a relationship with the individual whose information you’ve provided
Their information is correct, and
You have their consent

If Capital One determines you’ve provided fraudulent or incorrect information, or you did not have consent, we may require you to provide additional information, or we may remove Account Users, or restrict or close this account.
