2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ: What We Know So Far

Cadillac's electric flagship SUV will offer an estimated 450 miles of range.

The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ is all about big numbers. Really big numbers.

The first all-electric Escalade is a 750-hp three-row SUV that can travel up to 450 miles on a single charge. It can entertain front-seat passengers in its leather-lined cabin via a 55.0-inch screen that spans the entire dashboard. It can keep occupants in all three rows amused via its available 40-speaker AKG audio system. And, unlike most vehicles, the Escalade IQ has a four-wheel steering system that can turn not only the front wheels but the rear wheels, too.

Here's what we know about the new 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ.

Escalade IQ Boasts Both Power and Performance

The Escalade IQ makes use of two electric motors to deliver up to 750 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. That's enough for a 0-to-60-mph run in the sub-5-second range, Cadillac estimates.

All that power comes via a 24-module battery from parent company General Motors' Ultium lineup. Cadillac says the battery will provide upward of 200 kWh of available energy, which puts it on par with the Chevrolet Silverado EV and the GMC Hummer EV pickup trucks.

Cadillac has yet to release a curb-weight estimate, but GM quotes the GMC Hummer EV — which also rides on the Ultium platform with a 24-module battery — at around 9,000 pounds.

The Escalade IQ has an air suspension that can lower the SUV by around two inches for easier access. This new Cadillac also includes magnetic dampers to take the edge off the SUV's enormous 24-inch wheels. The four-wheel steering system can move the Escalade diagonally to make exiting a tight parking spot easier — or at least more visually dramatic for passersby.

Escalade IQ Styling and Interior Appointments

The Escalade IQ shares its name but not its design with the gas-fueled model currently on sale. The EV version still packs plenty of styling punch, but it does so without the conventional Escalade's upright stance.

Instead, it has a sleek, low profile — at least by big SUV standards. Up front, complex LED headlights flanking the grille provide a light show when the vehicle is locked or unlocked.

Under the hood, the Escalade IQ has a 12.0 cu-ft front trunk, thanks to electric propulsion motors tucked underneath the body. Above the Escalade IQ sits a fixed glass roof treated with UV-filtering film designed to keep the interior at a comfortable temperature.

The cabin's primary screen is 55.0 inches wide and stretches the entire width of the dash, though the display is set up in a more conventional fashion: In front of the driver is an instrument cluster flanked by a central navigation and infotainment display. Climate controls sit below on an angled touchpad jutting out of the center console.

The standard model features seven seats, while individual second-row captain's chairs are optional. At least four trim levels will be offered, including Luxury 1 and 2 grades as well as Sport 1 and 2 configurations. Specifics won't be announced until closer to the on-sale date, but Cadillac did tease an available Executive Second-Row Seating Package with massaging captain's chairs fronted by airplane-style stowable tray tables and 12.6-inch individual screens with USB-C and HDMI ports.

Cadillac says the 2025 Escalade IQ will cost around $130,000 to start when it hits the market in summer 2024.
