This vehicle in the AWD set up is excellent

Overall excellent; no defects and handles super in the AWD configuration; would prefer the 6 cyl for our WV hills

Roomy, Sporty, Smooth and Fast

We were looking for a vehicle for my wife to use around town but one that I could drive if need be; we tested 5 other models and picked the Equinox LTZ. Im 6 feet 5 inches tall and 275 pounds and easily fit in this vehicle. Even with the driver seat all the way back there is still plenty of leg room for the back passenger. The 6 cylinder is very responsive, smooth and quiet; you cannot feel the transmission shifting from gear to gear. The LTZ looks more expensive than what we paid for it and considering all of the high-tech gadgetry in the vehicle we feel the Equinox was a great buy. Love the OnStar feature, once you use it you have to have it. My wife really likes all of the safety features (back up camera, lane change warning, vehicle approaching, etc.)...the leather in this vehicle is great looking and I particularly like the red baseball stitching around the seats. Just something to set it apart. Overall a great vehicle. Will purchase again.

Bad engines

If you're looking into buying any general motors vehicle with the 2.4L ecotec, do your due diligence before buying and you'll find a plethora of defects with this engine from faulty pcv systems that clog up in the cold and force a blow out of your rear main seal while you're driving and without warning, excessive oil consumption, to cheap pins in the timing chain assemly that like to come loose while you're driving, all of which can and will cause catastrophic engine failure. Simply googling the words "2.4L ecotech" well bring up a ton of results related to current and pending class actions against general motors over this engines poor design and GMs unwillingness to correct any of the problems with it.
