Incredibly reliable maintanence free fun car!
Friday, January 24, 2020
I've driven this car for 5 years now and I can confidently say it is the best car I've ever owned. Very quick and so easy to handle in tight spots. The only thing that I've had to do maintenance wise is put new tires on it and change one tail light bulb. Not one thing has broken on the car. I have solar panels and a 240v charger so charging overnight is a breeze. Very comfortable seating for 4 people in a surpriselingly spacious interior for such a small car. Fold down the rear seats and there is lots of room for hauling things around. In the summer now I get 74 miles of range max - down from the 82 miles when it was new but that is not unexpected with an EV. If you're looking for an almost perfect car buy this one.

Best Bang for Your EV Buck
Saturday, November 02, 2019
I needed a really economical car and did a lot of research. Nissan Leaf, Fiat 500e, Volkswagen eGolf, etc. Nissan was ok but uses its own Chaemo plug for charging and not a lot of infrastructure set up for it. Fiat is trendy and offers a lot of options that the Spark EV does not have like bumper sensors and such. eGolf was expensive and offers more room in the interior. I read a lot about the Spark EV and found that it offers 400 ft.lbs. of torque and found it to be quite intriguing. Never thought that I'd own a Chevrolet but this was actually built in Korea. Once I test drove it, I was sold. Burned rubber right off of the dealers lot! I drive a lot of miles to work and back everyday but still within the range of my Spark EV. Loads of fun driving around town and the acceleration is amazing. 0-60 in 6.5 seconds surprises a lot of cars on the road. There is no transmission lag as it is directly hooked up one speed from AC motor to batteries. By the time other cars are accelerating off the white crosswalk line at the intersection, I'm already 30 feet ahead of them! I purchased a 240v charger and downtime is kept to a minimum. Plenty of storage if you fold down the back seat. Fits in tight spots for easy parking. Wife recently said I was spending $360 month in gas for my Lexus. Bought this knowing we have solar panels, for $130/mo and it pays for itself. Now she wants to drive it everywhere we can go within range and she is SOLD on the Spark EV too! Buy it!

Driving Spark EV's for over 6 years - Love them!
Saturday, October 19, 2019
We leased a 2014 Spark EV for 3 years, and liked it so much we leased this 2016 car for 3 years, and then bought it after the lease. We have a bigger, luxurious SUV, but the three people in our family always choose the Spark EV first. It's so nimble, so quick, so smooth in acceleration and regenerative braking. It's just the best way to get around San Diego. (And no gas stations, almost zero maintenance, and super reliable!)
