A Fantastic Vehicle At A Bargain
Wednesday, November 20, 2019
I was really disappointed at the last vehicle I purchased and I threw away a LOT of money on it, it was a 2015 Subaru Forester. This time I really did a very extensive homework for many months. I didn't just read stuff but I actually went to almost every car dealer around and test drove a lot of different cars, Subaru, Chevy, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, Olds Mobile, Hyundai, Volvo. One of the thing I learned is that SUVs are really over priced and is incredible how much people are willing to pay for that kind of nonsense. In the end I ended up getting the Kia Sedona to transport family and my photography gear for work. I am very impressed with the interior/exterior design with this van. I LOVE how Kia's people decided to make their vehicles and it truly shows how much time they put into it and I find that really impressive and I respect that. The buttons are all really high quality, IMHO. Kia did the right thing by not putting a huge nasty touch screen to interact with everything, the buttons were GENIOUS!!! Where they put the gear shifter lever is also GENIOUS!!! I love that. So far I'm really happy with the Sedona and you get so much for much lower than the competition. I have zero complaints about the van and I have no clue why Consumer Reports said very bad things about the Sedona when it came out back in 2015. That the suspension "is no good" among other things. I also own a 2007 extremely reliable and comfortable Toyota Sienna with 170,000 miles on it and let me tell you that I find absolutely nothing wrong with the Kia Sedona, I just can't find anything bad about it. I have plenty of space, it is comfortable, it is cool looking, it cost me thousands of dollars less than everything else I test drove. People complain about the city MPG but man, all other six cylinder mini vans and SUVs have about the same MPG in the city so we all already knew that before buying the darn car. It is a big and heavy vehicle just as my 2007 Toyota Sienna. The other day I took a short trip on the highway and the MPG from my Kia Sedona was 29 MPG between 65-70 MPH and that is very darn good, so any fool that decides to drive a six or eight cylinder car at above 75 MPH and then complain about gas consumption is not right in the head. I have owned several cars in the past including Land Rover but so far this is the best vehicle I have purchased over all from a practical stand point of view. Regarding reliability and comfort I gave it 4 out of 5 because I just purchased the car so I don't know how reliable it will be long term, and regarding comfort the seats could be a little more softer for my personal taste. There is nothing wrong with the leather seats but for my butt and back I prefer more softness. The Kia Sedona feels like it was designed by Audi or something.

Very Satisfied Kia Owner

The Sedona is an excellent value and very dependable. I've had just normal wear issues in the year and a half since we bought it. A battery and tires. It's roomy for our three kids, the interior cargo area is ample, and I installed a hitch to tow with. It has the LX Convenience Package on it and I'm about to add foglights to aid in rural night driving. The van handles beautifully and feels more like a luxury car. The ride is smooth and gas mileage is excellent. No complaints here. I feel, from what I see, the 2016 is still a better value than the 2019 and up. Kia realized they were offering too much for the price I guess.

Value and comfort

My Kia Sedona LX is a handsome vehicle. I love the elevated seating position and ever comfortable seating. The instruments are easy to use. The vehicle is quiet and transmission is smooth. The slide and stow seats make it very easy to get to third row. The space behind the third row is adequate for my needs. Overall, I deem the Sedona to be of great value and utility. No recalls yet unlike those other vans.
