Love the look

Sunday, October 13, 2019

So far, it's been fine mechanically with only 21k on it. The paint is a different story. It's very soft, to the point of being defective. I've never put a ding on it but it has many. And they go completely through to primer. VERY disappointed in the paint. Am planning a new paint job. The driver seat feels like a cockpit, and the car corners well. A lot of zip too, for a 4 cylinder. Because of the paint, this will be my last Mazda.

Smoothest ride ever

Sunday, June 27, 2021

I have a 2016 i touring and have driven others of the same year and this car is the smoothest I have ever drive. Even better then the new models of pretty much any brand. Even the 2021 6 is very stiff and I feel everything on the road! Wind noise is an issue along with the hollow doors. Wind noise is an issue with new models, like the Sonata and K5 but not the Honda Accord and Nissan Altima. The navigation noob along with the ride make this an absolute winner for me.

Best Car Available for the $

I purchased this car new in December of 2014 and over its entire life (86k miles and counting) I've done the following: -New tires twice -Front brake pads -New engine and cabin filters -New battery at 77k -New key fob battery every few years -Regular 6000-7000 mile full synthetic oil and filter change Touring level trim is a perfect balance of value and luxury. Extremely well built car. With 86k it feels solid and strong. Styling still looks sharp and fresh, 19" wheels really set off the Snowflake Pearl Mica paint too. 184hp 2.5l Skyactiv-G direct injection engine is adequate and delivers great fuel economy, NVH and reliability. And I definitely run it to redline on every drive and have since I bought it new. 6spd Skyactiv auto transmission is unmatched as the greatest automatic I've ever used (including Porsche Tiptronic, BMW Steptronic and Mercedes MB-xGTronic transmissions). Firm and quick shifts, amazing throttle blip downshift accuracy and absolutely perfect reliability and smoothness. Sporty handling, especially after you replace the stock tires. Firestone Indy 500s are a great choice and not expensive. This car definitely invites you to throw it around and does not feel heavy or ponderous. Seats are appropriately bolstered for spirited driving. Roomy and practical as well, carries 4 adults and a weekends' worth of gear easily. 5 in a pinch. Overall just a fantastic car and something that is just light years ahead of comparable midsize cars, even a few that cost a lot more. I'd recommend one to anyone.
