The 2022 BMW M4 lineup expanded with a new convertible body style. In addition, BMW made its xDrive all-wheel-drive (AWD) system available on the M4 convertible for the first time. The M4 coupe continued, equipped with a standard turbocharged six-cylinder engine making 473 horsepower, a manual transmission, and rear-wheel drive. Versions with the Competition name have a 503-hp turbo six and an automatic transmission. The EPA-estimated mileage is 16/23/19 mpg in city/highway/combined driving with rear-wheel drive and 16/22/18 mpg with AWD. The 2022 M4 seats four people and provides up to 12 cubic-feet of cargo room.
