The Hyundai Azera is a full-size sedan with upscale aspirations. It went on sale in 2006 to replace the similarly themed XG 350 and employed a typical engineering recipe for this type of vehicle: V6 engine, front-wheel drive, a roomy interior, and a big trunk. The first-generation Azera was sold from 2006 to 2011, with regular updates over this period. However, in this version's final year, the car got more power, a new transmission, and improved fuel-economy ratings. The second-generation Azera went on sale in 2012, boasting more contemporary styling, another powertrain upgrade, and a significant improvement in overall sophistication. As a result of Hyundai shifting focus to develop the Genesis luxury brand and other vehicles, Hyundai discontinued the Azera in the United States in 2018.
