For 2022, Rivian fires its opening volley into the electric vehicle game with the R1T pickup. The R1T comes only as a crew cab with a short cargo bed and is sized between traditional midsize and full-size pickups. Innovative storage solutions abound; for example, since there’s no internal combustion engine, the R1T has a sizable trunk up front. You can also tow up to 11,000 lbs of gear. Most importantly, the R1T offers an official Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) driving range of approximately 314 miles on a single charge, and Rivian claims the truck’s four electric motors can accelerate the truck to 60 mph in three seconds.
