Car Overview
Volkswagen Passat
Volkswagen sold a midsize car in America from 1974 to 2022. Originally called the Dasher and then the Quantum, VW’s family-sized car adopted the Passat name when a redesign arrived in 1990. Over the years, the Passat came in four-door sedan and station wagon body styles, with and without all-wheel drive, and with various gasoline and diesel engines. However, the final version of the Passat, which debuted in 2012, was sedan-only. It was essentially a full-size sedan, built in Tennessee specifically for the U.S. market. But, since Americans want SUVs, the Passat’s road ended after the 2022 model year.
