Best in class!

12/10/2019

I have owned three Nissan Maximas before purchasing this vehicle and it was a definite step up. While the Maxima is reliable, well made and fun to drive the Q40 is a jet fighter on wheels. The performance is incredible and that legendary engine is perfectly tuned and sounds beautiful. It uses the Nissan 370Z platform and engine so it retains that car’s rugged sporty performance but because it is an Infiniti it has all of the luxury bells and whistles expected from a car in this segment. This is a 370Z wearing a tux. For me the most important factor in a sport luxury car is the performance and I looked at all of the competitors from the Germans to the other Japanese offerings and no other car in this price range came close to offering performance on par with this vehicle. The reliability was another factor and while Lexus and Acura are also excellent in that regard, I found that the German competition is notorious for mechanical and electrical problems and these issues are very expensive to fix. My research led me to eliminate BMW, Mercedes and Audi from my list as they cannot compete with the Japanese manufactures in terms of reliability. The car corners very well and brakes will stop you on the dime. The ride is a bit on the stiffer side due to the Q40’s sports car roots and this may not appeal to everyone but I certainly enjoy it. It looks sharp and is well equipped. I am a music lover and an avid podcast listener so the Bose sound system is a favorite of mine. I also relocated to a new state recently so the navigation system was a must and is very easy to use and works flawlessly. The interior is made with high quality materials and looks very elegant. These vehicles maintain their resale value very well so that is something to keep in mind also. Overall, the amount of features and performance that you get for the very reasonable price makes this vehicle best in class. The ride is very smooth and responsive and the engine and performance are incredible. This is one of if not the best values in the luxury market.

Best Bang for the Buck

12/22/2016

I fell in love with Nissan after driving my 3.5SE Altima for 190,000 miles. After I got a quote for $1,000 of repairs, plus knowing I needed new tires and the expensive 200,000 mile tune up - I started looking for a new car. I was sold on Nissan and wouldn't settle for anything less than a V6. The new Altima was nice, fast, but the cloth seats were just cheesy looking. The Maxima was expensive but also nice. It's price tag pushed me to look at The Q40, Q50, Lexus I and E series, Audi A3, and BMW 325s. The Lexus are just comfortable slow cars. I was bored with it during the test drive. The BMW and Audi dealerships nickel and dime you to $40,000 but also felt small - I'm 6'1" and hit my head on the ceiling and door frame. The Q50 felt sluggish, and handled like a boat. The Q40 made me smile - I have the AWD version and it's a fun car to open up, hugs turns, stops on a dime, and really lets you feel in control of the automobile. You'll have to find a used one or look into the Q70 to get something like this again. PROS: FAST!!! AWD Handling and stability is wonderful. Very little body lean. Seats are comfortable. Sound system is great. Materials are durable. Lots of features come standard with Navigation package: sunroof, dual power heated seats, voice recognition, dual climate control, bluetooth. CONS: MPG is depressing. The Voice recognition does not control climate system. No memory seats standard. No folding rear seats. No power steering wheel. My biggest complaint - the center console storage space is lacking - no good places for the junk you end up keeping there! The Engine and ride noise are higher inside the cabin than the Lexus E and Infiniti Q50, but probably why they were sluggish and handled like a chevy at best.

Fun and excitment Q40 ride

09/01/2015

Unlike many mid size, sport luxuary cars that i have owned or driven in the past, my recently purchased 2015 Q40, is nothibg but pure fun with feeling the quality and saftey with confidence that bring about while driving the Q40. I enjoy driving this car with its high powerfull respond and manouver capability which bring me nothing but pure joy driving it while feeling safe and in control. What gives me more pleasure is that designe, elegance and simplicity of this vehicle yet it maintain such a nice class with elegant interior. I just hope thag I do not get an moving citation. If I new this vehicle would have brought me back such a fun and excitment driving it with comfort, I would have purchased it much earlier. I know that i will enjoy havig to drive my new Q40 with all it offers including safety and quality and confidence in driving and look forward to upcoming new Q60. I know thag my next car is also going to be Infiniti.
