Great car. Not for everyone.

Comfortable quiet ride. Great gas mileage and strong V6. Cold weather causes rattles from the rear deck. Low entry height. Climate system is slow to heat up/ cool down when engine first starts. JBL sound system is nice but can easily cause buzz and rattles in door panels. Fit and finish are good with better than average materials. Great long trip cruiser. Huge trunk and spacious back seats. Headlights are just “ good enough “ at best.

This is my second Avalon Limited...why they decide to no longer make the Avalon is beyond me. The 2022 has apple car play, rides beautiful and the car is an eye turner. We usually trade our cars approx. 3-4 years, I have no idea what car I can come up with that can compare to the Avalon Toyota you should be a shame for thinking people are no longer interested in Sedans

Best in a shrinking segment

09/26/2021

Bought my Avalon Touring new, only thing I would change is I would like to have had AWD with the V6 rather than having to downgrade the engine. I wound up going with the V6 and just accepting the FWD, and now AWD isn't even available in the final 2022 model. I guess they have to save something for Lexus. Ride and comfort is very important to me which is why I don't care for SUVs or crossovers. It's such a shame that the large sedan segment is almost dead. Don't know what I'll do in 10 years when I'm looking for my next car but who knows, maybe sedans will come back by then. I can dream! Because of the lack of AWD it does have some trouble putting all 300 horses down on just 2 wheels when you floor it from a stop. There is some wheel spin. 1 star off of performance. Only other nitpick is the exterior styling is somewhat aggressive for what the Avalon is, but it's not too bad. 1 star off styling. It has good acceleration, amazing build quality on the interior, and rides like a cloud. All top scores where it counts. Pick one up when you can, 2022 is the end of the line!
