2025 HondaCR-V Hybrid Sport-L For Sale

I just retired from the Auto Industry after 40 years, I was an ASE-certified technician, service manager, and store manager for Goodyear, and for the last 5 years, I worked as a commercial parts manager for the dealerships in Broward County. I have owned three Toyotas, two Hondas, and a Mitsubishi. All gave me great service. Decided to buy a Hybrid and researched thoroughly, I narrowed the search to RAV4 or CRV. Test drove them both. The Honda was more refined inside and out. The interior quality of the CRV is much better. The ride quality and quietness of the cab in the Honda was superior. I could not have gone wrong either way, but I am loving my CRV Sport L!!!!

I have had my CR-V Sport-L (2024) for a four months now, and love it. I have had multiple Accord Sedans (5) since 1999, and have always loved them. I am a dedicated Honda customer. By the way, I have driven many MANY models from other manufacturers over the years - I travel 2 weeks out of each month on business and have had many Hertz rental cars over the years... I have experienced many of Honda's competitors every year. I went with the CR-V because I was at our local Honda Dealership, helping my grandson buy a used car. I sat in the 2024 Sport-L out of curiosity and was very impressed, so I took it for a drive. I was very surprised to find it to be MUCH quieter and smoother during normal driving than my Accord EX-L (2019). If you have been considering a CR-V Hybrid, you may have seen reviews that say there is engine noise when climbing a steep hill, and that is true. The engine does wind out a bit, and during hard acceleration is is not a quiet performer when pushing hard. Other than that (99% of the time, in other words), the vehicle is butter smooth and quiet. LOTS of room, and very comfortable. For me, the Sport-L is the perfect balance of features. Honda hit this one out of the park. So far, my combined gas mileage is about 35.5 mpg. Not quite as high as they say, but I do a 50/50 mix of highway/city driving. City driving is in the high 30's. Downsides? Yes, a couple. No longer has the "home" button (for the garage door opener) on the rearview mirror. I now have the opener on my driver sunshade (clipped on). I mentioned noise above, during "hard acceleration" - if you're looking for a "sporty" experience, look elsewhere. The engine will move the car at a reasonable pace, but not as quickly as my past Accords. One more downside is the "All Weather" package that the dealer in my area adds on. They cleverly claim "no dealer mark up!", but add all weather floor mats, cargo mat, and wheel splash guards for the eye-watering sum of $3,000. IMO, these are actually quite flimsy - especially compared to WeatherTech. Oh - and you can get the whole WeatherTech setup for about $600, and they are MUCH higher quality (I have used WT for many years). So - it really is added markup in my case, because the dealer refused to remove these "installed" items. Do I recommend this vehicle? Resoundingly, YES!

I had this car for 11 months before it was stolen this week. I’m just waiting for my insurance check and am definitely purchasing this vehicle again. That said, while this car has some great features there are some major drawbacks. They weren’t and aren’t deal breakers for me but they might be in your situation. First the pros. The gas mileage is good in city. I live in urban areas and I can easily get higher than estimated mpg. I was running about 43mpg combined over the life of the car. Also, the car is comfortable. The seats are spacious in both front and back. I’m 5’11” and had no discomfort sitting in the rear seats. Storage volume is great as expected for a crv. Cons: 1) if you use heat or ac your gas mileage plummets. Don’t expect to get anything better than 30mpg if you use these features. That’s still good but no better than a gas only vehicle so might as well save your money. 2) hills and general acceleration. This thing hates hills. Even moderate inclines force the car into gas mode. Even with that, driving into mountains draws almost 75% of the engine power. You cannot use heat or ac when driving on hills as the car hits red line almost immediately. The general acceleration also sucks. I live in an area of the northeast with many busy interstates and heavy truck traffic. The road needs to be absolutely clear before you merge as this thing will not jump quickly. Again, you can force the car into the red zone (per the energy dial) but that seems bad for the health of the car. Instead, I’ve taught myself to always take secondary roads so as to avoid merging. 3) lack of basic tools. This is me nitpicking. I did purchase the lowest tier vehicle. However, I would still expect it to include basic things. For example, in the center console you have ample storage space. Yet, it does not include that little removable coin/key tray. It’s just an empty hole unless you pay for a 3rd party add on. Likewise, the base model lacks knobs on the vents and the center controls (fan, ac, etc). It includes slick black buttons and tab levers so you can use the features however, these are so slick/ smooth that you’ll want to buy a third party add on (knob covers, extended buttons, etc) to get a better grip on them and make them visible.
