Useful information to have on hand to reference as you fill in your application, include:

  • Personal Identification (Social Security card, and/or personal tax return)
  • Your business’s Articles of Ownership, Articles of Incorporation, business tax returns, proof of ownership, SS-4 Notification Letter, Assumed Name Statement and/or your current lease or Certificate of Occupancy.
  • Up-to-date information about your business’s owners (ownership percentage, date of birth, Social Security number, address, etc.)

To complete the application you’ll need:

  • Personal information (name, date of birth, Social Security Number, etc.)
  • E-mail address and phone number
  • U.S. address and owner establishment date (not a P.O. box)
  • Legal name of business and type of business
  • Business establishment date with signer's full name
  • Tax ID number, ownership structure, number of employees
  • Percent of ownership and annual gross revenue

BUSINESS BANKING PRODUCTS FAQS

Opening a business checking account online with Capital One is easy. We’ll just ask a few questions about yourself and your business. You may want to have a few documents on-hand to reference as you complete your application, including:

  • Personal Identification (Social Security card, and/or personal tax return)
  • Your business’s Articles of Ownership, Articles of Incorporation, business tax returns, proof of ownership, SS-4 Notification Letter, Assumed Name Statement and/or your current lease or Certificate of Occupancy.
  • Up-to-date information about your business’s owners (ownership percentage, date of birth, Social Security number, address, etc.)

Other important information you need to know:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age and must be a legal U.S. resident.
  • All applicants are subject to review of past account handling and verification of the information provided.

Once your account has been approved you will receive an email with a link to set up your access. After you complete set up, you will have immediate access to your online account.

For Basic Checking customers, the $15 monthly fee can be waived with a $2,000 minimum 30- or 90-day average balance. For Enhanced Checking customers, the $35 monthly fee can be waived with $25,000 minimum 30- or 90-day average balance.

Checkbooks can be ordered by logging into your Capital One account. After selecting the account you want to order checks for, you can select “Account Services and Settings” and “Order Checks” to place your checkbook order.
