Before making a transfer to or from your external account, you’ll need to make sure your external account has been linked up for transfers.
You can view and manage your external accounts on the website:
- Sign in to capitalone.com
- Click on your name/icon in the top right corner
- Click on “Account & Feature Settings”
- Under the “external accounts” heading, you can view your linked external accounts or choose to add a new external account. You may have up to 3 external accounts linked for transfers.
As long as your external account is linked up for transfers, you can make deposits or withdrawals with that external account. For more information on adding a link visit Link an External Account.
Please note: Personal Capital One account holders have the ability to link external personal checking, savings or money market accounts. External business accounts are not eligible to be linked to personal accounts.
To make a transfer on the website:
- Sign in to capitalone.com
- Click on the Capital One account you want to transfer with
- Click on “Transfer” or “Transfer Money” next to your balance.
- Follow the prompts to set up your transfer
To make a transfer on the mobile app:

Sign in to the Capital One Mobile app (Text “MOBILE” to 80101 for a link to download)

Tap the Capital One account you want to transfer with

Tap “Transfer” or “Transfer Money” under the “I Want To” menu located below your balance.
