QuickTakes:

What Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV is an electric pickup that combines expected truck features — such as the ability to carry up to 1,300 pounds of payload — with new electric vehicle (EV) features — such as offboard power delivery. Using the same Ultium EV platform found in the GMC Hummer EV, the Silverado EV will offer an estimated 400 miles of range, with up to 754 horsepower and more than 785 pound-feet of torque.

Two large screens dominate the Silverado EV's interior: an available 17.0-inch infotainment screen and an 11.0-inch driver display. A multicolor head-up display and parent company General Motors' Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance system add to the technologically advanced feel. Chevrolet will also offer the Silverado EV with Ultium Charge 360, GM's digital service that simplifies the charging experience and provides access to around 60,000 public charging points in North America.

How Much Can the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV Tow?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV can tow up to 10,000 pounds. Both the WT and RST models will come with a Tow/Haul mode and trailer hitch provisions, but only the RST will have Chevy's Advanced Trailering System. The Silverado EV's version of Super Cruise will even function with a trailer attached. A future fleet-customer version of the Silverado EV will be able to tow up to 20,000 pounds.

What's Special About the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV?

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV features unique storage options, including a suitcase-sized lockable and weatherproof compartment under the hood called the eTrunk. The available Multi-Flex Midgate and MultiPro tailgate extend the bed's carrying space into the cabin, allowing the EV to carry items up to almost 11 feet long. The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV is expected to have retail availability by summer 2024.

What is the 2024 GMC Sierra EV?

The 2024 GMC Sierra EV shares its Ultium EV platform with the Silverado EV, which means identical specifications in some areas: up to 754 horsepower, more than 785 lb-ft of torque, and an estimated 400 miles of range. The two trucks differ in how parent company GM is introducing them. GM is targeting the lower end of the truck market with the first Silverado EVs while making the Sierra EV initially available only in the high-end Denali Edition 1 trim.

The 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 has a panoramic fixed glass roof, wireless device charging, and a Bose premium audio system. The 2024 GMC Sierra EV can tow up to 9,500 pounds. Like the Silverado EV, the Sierra EV will offer Super Cruise hands-free driver-assistance technology that works with a trailer attached. The trailering package will be standard on the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1. The electric truck also has a maximum payload capacity of 1,300 pounds and configurable cargo bed with a maximum 10-foot, 10-inch carrying length.

What's Special About the 2024 GMC Sierra EV?

The 2024 GMC Sierra EV offers four-wheel steering, which means the rear wheels can turn along with the front wheels. This feature, also seen on the Hummer EV, reduces the size of the turning radius at lower speeds and makes the truck more stable at higher speeds. It also enables CrabWalk, which allows the truck to move diagonally at low speeds.

Expected deliveries of the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 begin in early 2024. Other trims, including the Elevation and AT4, will arrive in 2025.

What Is the 2025 Ram 1500 Revolution?

Although it's just a concept at this point, the 2025 Ram 1500 Revolution shows how Stellantis plans to enter the electric-truck game when it officially starts playing in that space in a couple of years. The Ram 1500 Revolution uses a new body-on-frame architecture, internally named STLA and designed for full-size electric trucks.

The STLA frame gives the 2025 Ram 1500 Revolution a wheelbase 4 inches longer than the 2023 Ram 1500, providing more rear legroom. The concept's high-tech features include Level 3+ autonomous parking capability and biometric recognition as you enter the cabin.

How Much Can the 2025 Ram 1500 Revolution Carry?

Because the Ram 1500 Revolution is still just a concept, Ram hasn't released specific cargo capacity figures for the truck. The concept is expected, however, to offer multiple ways to fit more people or goods. There are two removable third-row jump seats and a revised, two-tier version of the RamBox Cargo Management System. An extendable truck bed with a powered, 50/50-split multifunction tailgate works with a narrow pass-through that opens up space all the way to the front trunk, or frunk.

What's Special About the 2025 Ram 1500 Revolution?

At first glance, the 28.0 inches of touchscreen space on the dashboard make up one large screen. But the Ram 1500 Revolution concept allows this screen to split into two 14.2-inch screens, with the lower half able to swivel out into a laptop-like computer workstation. The production version of the 2025 Ram 1500 Revolution concept has an expected release date of late 2024.
